1. The Apple. Generally most people who are an apple shape will be top heavy, have a tendency to carry weight on their top half and have slimmer limbs and bottom half. When dressing an apple shaped body, you need to draw attention away from your mid riff and
highlight other parts.
Avoid anything that is going to draw you in at the waist and instead go for items that will drape over the body. Balance out wider shoulders by wearing wide legged trousers and always highlight your best areas.
2. The Pear. Pear shapes tend to be the opposite of apple shapes and carry the weight on their bottom half. Often pear shapes will have a much more noticeable shape because their shoulders are often much narrower than their bottom half.
To dress a pear shape you need to think about adding definition to your shoulders to balance out a larger bottom half. Avoid pants that are too narrow and try to wear tops that will accentuate your shoulders.
3. The Hourglass. An hourglass body will have a significantly defined waist, with busts and hips having usually an equal measurement. This tends to be the least common of body types but hourglass figures tend to have curves in all the right places.
To dress an hourglass figure,you need to dress your waist so it is the focal point, as you have those curves you should show them off. Make sure you balance your top and your bottom half.
4. The Rectangle. A rectangle shape tends to be the most common body shape, this is where the waist and the hips are roughly the same measurement. With a rectangle shape there is no waist definition to make curves.
The trick to dressing this body type is to make curves were there aren’t any. Add belts to your outfits and ruffles and texture will add detail were there is none. Stay away from boyish looking clothes as this will accentuate your straight up and down figure.
